I am sadly preparing to ‘de-deck the halls’, but before I do I am sharing my final party looks of 2014 with you. Christmas day in the left corner and New Year’s Eve in the right corner.
I was going to say how fabulously modern it is to throw on a sweater with an evening skirt or dress but it’s actually more a fifties thing. No matter. It still works. Christmas day was very low key, I cooked for the family and I certainly didn’t need to dress up, but who says need has anything to do with it? Christmas is a magical time and demands occasion dressing. And anyway I always relish an opportunity to add a spot of glamour to the proceedings. The dress is actually a strapless cocktail number, but I wanted it to look less ‘cocktail’ and more day, so I added a neat jumper and flats.
We hosted a big NYE bash at our place this year. My energy was flagging by New Year so I needed to feel comfortable and slouchy choosing an oversize knit, printed skirt, leggings and wedges instead of a glitzy dress.
Happy New Year to you all.
