I wore this purple double act for low key dinner at the weekend. The purple metallic clutch is in a cracked leather so looks a bit roughed up, you can just see it shimmering under my arm. I hardly ever wear print, and although I appreciate it, I feel uncomfortable in it somehow. That is until I tried this in the Cos sale (a shop I can lose myself in for literally HOURS) and was instantly converted.
There is a print out there for everyone. Firstly, you need to like it, even just a little. Secondly, you absolutely must try it on, I know this seems obvious, but the proportion of the print and how it works on the body are vital to finding your perfect match. This particular print is abstract and simplistic, also the knit is deceptively classic in shape. I added a necklace and took it off again. It was not needed here. This wonder top succeeds in elevating a simple outfit from ‘meh’ status and is also a breeze to wear. Lesson over.
