And the winning colour is….

January 17, 2014

There is little that I enjoy more than trawling through the images of an awards ceremony. The glamour! The gowns! The spot on colour choices! The colour mistakes!

Here is my roundup of who did it best and those that missed the mark…..

The stunning Cate Blanchett in a soft, charcoal confection – She has cool undertones so this charcoal is faultless on her.

Julie Bowen is impeccable in this structured velvet (great for older skins) two tone dress. The geranium red pops against her skin highlighting her cool undertones.

Olivia Wilde works this emerald sequinned column completely. She has warm undertones so this jewel like hue is spot on.

This bright rose is sublime on Sandra Bullock. Her cool, deep and clear tones make this dramatic dress really shine.

The inimitable Helen Mirren resplendent in mint and blue embroidery. Faultless. Her warm, soft tones work in harmony with this colour mix.

Jessica Chastain has warm undertones. She looks magnificent in the jewel colours, corals, tangerine and true reds. This black, however, is draining on her and it’s such a shame!

Amy Adams is also warm and she would look twenty times better if the colour on the bottom half of this dress was flipped onto the top half. I mean it’s alright, but who wants just alright in front of millions of viewers?
