Shirts,skirts and layering

April 12, 2013

When I feel a little haggard I like to dress in a more girly fashion. The white shirt collar lifts my pale skin and the pale blue one softens the harshness of the black knit against my winter pallor. Flat shoes add to the schoolgirl primness, and both styles nod to two of the key trends this season, animal print (although they are leopard, not snakeskin) and metallics. I have a penchant for metallic shoes as they never fail to brighten the day. The higher waisted skirt is good for balancing out my long torso and the fullness of the skirt hints at hips that aren’t really there. All that layering is good for breaking up either a very tall figure, creating curves on a boyish shape or detracting from a chunky arm or tummy.
